It is safe to say that 2020 has definitely been a funny old year and I don’t think I can be the only one who is glad it is nearly over! With all of the uncertainty and changes we have all faced there has been a clear emphasis in the media about self care and taking time to look after yourself.
In an earlier blog I talked about the importance of routine and structure for me and the girls as that is what kept the three of us sane during the first lockdown. The area where we live has been under higher restrictions since the start and is leaving this second lockdown in tier three- of course! However with the girls being back at school and nursery it has a slightly different (and quieter) feel this time around.
As we start to gear towards Christmas I began to realise that with all of the stress of trying to keep things as normal as possible for the children I hadn’t really taken much thought about myself and so I have made some small changes to my new routine to try and make me feel a little more like the old me. I have picked up the yoga work outs I stared during lockdown 1.0, started drinking fruit tea (this one makes me feel particularly grown up) and making sure I down tools at a reasonable hour so I have time to unwind and prepare for a good night’s sleep.
I don’t know about you but recently I have been feeling that no matter how many hours sleep I get I just don’t feel as refreshed as I should. My sleep has been relatively unbroken since the girls have their weighted blankets and I try to avoid thinking about work or any day to day stresses before I turn out the light so I can’t put my finger on why.
Before I made up my mind about calling my GP for advice I decided to see if there were any over the counter vitamins or supplements I could try to give me that much needed boost! This is when I came across Vita-C, a liquid vitamin C food supplement. I am not going to lie, it probably mainly caught my eye with it’s bright, modern looking packaging and branding (I am a marketers dream!) but also the listed benefits of taking Vita-C which included supporting my immune system, aiding normal collagen formulation (which is good for teeth and skin) and the most important to me- the reduction of tiredness and fatigue!!
I have been using Vita-C now for a couple of weeks and I can honestly say it has put a spring in my step! I take mine in the morning when I get to my desk instead of turning on the coffee machine which is a sentence I never thought I would say. As I just mix it in with about 50ml of water it tastes like an almost sweet dilute orange shot- another bonus as I hate swallowing pills and would have soon given up on anything that tasted bad. It also turns out that as it is a liposomal vitamin c you actually absorb six times more vitamin C than by taking a tablet version- double bonus.
With all the usual winter bugs flying about, not to mention the dreaded C bomb, I wanted to share this tasty little immune boosting, fatigue fighting nugget with you all in case anyone else is wanting to feel a little more ‘you’. Why not have a look at www.vitaminc.co.uk โค๏ธ
